Program Description:

Commercial real estate construction financing is frequently included in commercial real estate loan requests and community bank commercial officers
should be trained and prepared to review and underwrite these requests. This session is designed to increase your understanding of one of the most specialized loan classes in a portfolio. Students will review the risks inherent in
Commercial Construction Lending; describe the types of commercial construction loans; examine underwriting factors for the borrower, project and
contractor; identify loan structure and loan monitoring best practices.

NOTE: This is the fourth session of the 2009 CFT/CBW Commercial Lending School. Participants may sign up for this as an individual seminar or as part of the School.

Presenter:

Mark Tyrpin is senior vice president for a large regional bank in Quincy, IL. His unique style of “ Banker Teaching Banker” emphasizes current banking examples and scenarios to supplement the classroom approach to learning. Reality and textbook application are presented. Tyrpin has over 20 years of banking experience including commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, loan rehabilitation and work out, as well as management. Prior to that, he was an investment banker specializing in municipal finance and trading. Tyrpin is also an executive officer and board member of one of the largerst not for profit family foundations in the state of Illinois.
