IRA Update

DATE:

January 15, 2008

LOCATION:

Live Webinar Broadcast

INSTRUCTOR:

Patrice Konarik

TIME:

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Central Time

COST: $255 per location

Program Description:

Surprisingly enough, Congress was very busy at the end of 2008 making several changes and improving the IRA plan types. There was the Emergency Economic Stimulus Act and the Tax Extenders and AMT Relief Act of 2008 as well as Cost of Living Adjustments for Traditional, Roth, SEP, SIMPLE and Health Savings Account plans. If you want to know the latest and greatest IRA changes, this annual update is a "must" attend.

This 2-Hour Webinar Covers:

  • What parts of the Pension Protection Act were reinstated for 2009?
  • What are the 2009 contribution limits and cost of living adjustments for Traditional, Roth and SEP IRAs?
  • What is the difference between a Traditional to Roth "conversion" and a QP to Roth "rollover"?
  • How should QCDs, HFDs and QP direct rollovers be reported?
  • Are the spouse and nonspouse options the same when moving money from a QP to an IRA?
  • What is the difference between a nonspouse beneficiary moving money from an employer plan to an IRA vs. an IRA to an IRA?
  • Who is responsible for the deceased owner's RMD in the year of death?
  • Whose name and SSN should appear on the 1099-R when reporting death distributions?

Who Should Attend:

IRA personnel in New Accounts, CDs, Trust, Investments and Savings Departments who are involved with the opening, selling, and administration of IRA accounts will benefit greatly from the review of the more complicated aspects of the IRA. This is considered an "Intermediate" workshop.
